Council Experience

2021 — Present Councillor, Town of Mono

Serving as a Councillor at Large, bringing responsible, independent and practical decision-making to the issues before Council.

Municipal Finance & Fiscal Responsibility

Focussed on responsible budgeting, careful use of taxpayer dollars and maintaining Mono's strong long-term financial position.

Infrastructure & Public Works

Supported responsible investment in Mono's roads, bridges and infrastructure, with attention to maintenance, lifecycle costs and long-term planning.

Fire Services and Public Safety

Served on the Shelburne and Rosemont and Districts fire service boards, including one year as chair, gaining direct experience in fire service governance, oversight and the delivery of this essential municipal service.

Community & Recreation

Eight years of service on Mono's Recreation Advisory Committee, first as a resident and later as a Councillor, together with four years as Chair of the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex Board, providing hands-on experience in recreation governance and community services.

Professional Background

My career as a clinical paediatrician taught me to listen carefully, assess complex information and make thoughtful decisions in the best interest of those I served. My work as a professional misconduct adjudicator further developed my ability to weigh evidence objectively, apply standards fairly and make difficult decisions independently and with integrity.

Community Involvement

My involvement in Mono extends beyond Council. Through service on the Recreation Advisory Committee, the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex Board and the Library Board, I have gained a broad understanding of the organizations and services that contribute to our community. I am also an avid mountain biker and teach mountain biking to women—one of the passions that originally drew me to make Mono my home.
